Kristina Bartlett, a Western Carolina University senior from Marion, has been named recipient of the $1,000 Janet Sprickman Award by the American Society of Safety Engineers.
The scholarship is presented annually by the ASSE to provide assistance to students entering the field of occupational safety and health. The award is named in honor of the first woman to serve as president of the ASSE’s National Capital Chapter.
Bartlett is majoring in environmental health at WCU. The daughter of Beverly Bartlett of Marion, she graduated from McDowell High School in 2009.
