Brandon Kirkley and the Firecrackers, a Charlotte rock band that bills itself as “simply the best parts of rock ’n’ roll executed flawlessly,” will kick off Western Carolina University’s 2012 Summer Concert Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, on the lawn of A.K. Hinds University Center.
In addition to front man Brandon Kirkley on vocals and guitar, the band includes David Hole on guitar and Chris Hensley on bass. BKTF is coming to Cullowhee following the recent release of its new seven-song album, “Years.”
Shows in the series happen at 7 p.m. each Thursday through June and July. The concerts, presented by WCU’s Arts and Cultural Events, are free, and the audience is invited to bring blankets, chairs and snacks. Rain location is inside the University Center.
