The faculty of the Mountain Collegium Music Workshop at Western Carolina University will perform a recital of medieval, renaissance, baroque and contemporary music on early and folk instruments at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7, in the recital hall of the Coulter Building.
The concert is free, but donations to the Gerald R. Moore Mountain Collegium Scholarship fund will be accepted.
Musicians include Jack Ashworth, Martha Bishop, Lisle Kulbach, Holly Maurer and Gail Ann Schroeder on violas da gamba; Valerie Austin, Jody Miller, Patricia Petersen and Gwyn Roberts on recorders; Lorraine Hammond and John Trexler on harp and folk instruments; and Barbara Weiss on harpsichord.
The Mountain Collegium is an informal yet intensive one-week summer program focusing on the performance of early music that draws professional and amateur musicians from all over the country.
