Constitutional studies expert to speak Sept. 7

Robert A. Levy, a nationally known expert in the field of constitutional studies, will deliver a talk titled “How the Supreme Court has Amended the Constitution” Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Western Carolina University.
The free presentation, to include a question-and-answer session, will begin at 3:35 p.m. in the Catamount Room of A.K. Hinds University Center.
Levy is chairman of the board of directors for the Cato Institute, a public policy research organization that conducts independent, nonpartisan research on a wide range of policy issues with a focus on individual liberty, limited government, free markets and peace.
His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Washington Post, National Review and many other publications. Levy also has discussed public policy on national radio and TV programs, including ABC’s “Nightline,” CNN’s “Crossfire,” Fox’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” MSNBC’s “Hardball” and NBC’s “Today Show.”
Levy’s latest book, co-authored with William Mellor, is “The Dirty Dozen: How Twelve Supreme Court Cases Radically Expanded Government and Eroded Freedom.”
