Western Carolina University will host a concert, “The Marvel of Ravel,” at 8 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the Coulter Building recital hall.
“This concert will offer rare musical works from Maurice Ravel, a French composer influenced by impressionist painters such as Monet,” said Bradley Martin, assistant professor in WCU’s School of Music and pianist. “It’s colorful, yet rare to hear, so we want to give listeners something to explore further within this music.”
The concert will feature “Piano Trio,” “Le Tombeau de Couperin” and “La Valse” performed on the violin, cello and piano.
In addition to Martin on piano, concert performers are Qiao Soloman, violin; and Franklin Keel, cello.
