The popular Tiny Tot and Youth swim programs will be offered throughout spring and summer at Western Carolina University.
The Tiny Tot Swim Program, designed for children ages 6 months to 5 years old, will be offered weekdays June 15-26, July 6-17 and July 27-Aug. 7 in Reid Gymnasium Pool.
Children ages 6 months to 3 years old meet weekdays from 5:15-6:05 p.m. Children ages 3 to 5 meet weekdays from 6:10-7 p.m.
Three-year-olds may take either class, based on skill level. Each child must be accompanied by at least one adult in the pool.
The cost per child is $39 per session.
The Youth Swim Program for children ages 6 and older will be offered in three separate sessions at Reid Pool, weekdays June 15-July 2 and again from July 6-23.
Classes are offered at various times from 8:45-11:30 a.m., based on the student’s skill level, from beginner through advanced.
The cost for the Youth Swim Program is $72 per session.
Michael Creason, instructor for the programs, is retired as an assistant professor in the department of health, physical education and recreation at WCU. He is certified by the American Red Cross to teach infants and children, and has been a swimming instructor for 32 years.
