Western Carolina University will crown the king and queen of the 2008 Homecoming Court during halftime activities at Western’s football game against the Samford University Bulldogs on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The king and queen were chosen through campuswide election from a court of five women and five men.

Seeking the title of queen:

• Tricia Virginia Argentine, a senior majoring in biology, sponsored by Phi Mu Fraternity. A 2005 graduate of Swain County High School, Argentine is the daughter of Robert and Trecia Argentine of Bryson City.

• Whitney Leigh Black, a junior majoring in communications, sponsored by Orientation Programs. A 2006 graduate of East Gaston High School, Black is the daughter of Chris and Jane Black of Gastonia.

• Colby Leigh Kinder, a senior majoring in hospitality and tourism, sponsored by Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. A 2005 graduate of Davie High School, Kinder is the daughter of Kirby and Kim Kinder of Mocksville.

• Natalie Dawn Moore, a senior majoring in health information administration, sponsored by Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. A 2005 graduate of Crest Senior High School, Moore is the daughter of Bobby and Dawn Moore of Mooresboro.

• Jessica Marie Steel, a senior majoring in communications, sponsored by Scott Hall. A 2005 graduate of Concord High School, Steel is the daughter of Jim and Sandy Steel of Concord.

Seeking the title of king:

• Andrew Hallman Bishop, a junior majoring in business administration and law, sponsored by Orientation Programs. A 2006 graduate of Parkwood High School, Bishop is the son of John and Anita Bishop of Penrose.

• Richard Travis Boyer, a senior majoring in communications, sponsored by Kappa Sigma Fraternity. A 2005 graduate of Providence Senior High School, Boyer is the son of Richard Lee Boyer of Matthews and the late Kim Michelle Boyer.

• Aaron Drew Camp, a senior majoring in social work, sponsored by Central Drive Hall. A graduate of 2005 R-S Central High School, Camp is the son of Casey Franklin Briggs and Tammy Camp Briggs of Forest City.

• Andrew Thomas Daniel, a senior majoring in business administration and law, sponsored by Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. A 2005 graduate of Lee County High School, Daniel is the son of Ron and Susan Daniel of Clarkton.

• Daniel Christopher Thomas, a senior majoring in communications, sponsored by an independent group of students. A 2004 graduate of Highlands School, Thomas is the grandson of Kyle and Nancy Thomas.
