Western Carolina University’s Ramsey Regional Activity Center will host the first stop on a 20-city national tour featuring country musician Jason Aldean and sponsored by the music network CMT.
Aldean and special guests Lady Antebellum will perform live at the Ramsey Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, to kick off the 2008 CMT on Tour. Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 22.
Aldean was selected by CMT because of his electrifying stage show honed from years of performing live in bars and clubs across the Southeast, tour organizers said. He leads a new crop of young country music stars, with almost 2 million albums sold, five consecutive top 10 hits and a trove of accolades and awards.
He will be joined on tour by reigning Academy of Country Music top new group Lady Antebellum, whose debut album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard chart earlier this year. The tour also includes country music newcomer Eric Durrance.
“It is such a surreal feeling to look behind the bus and see semi trucks with my name on them,” Aldean said. “Even as this thing grows, our fans are the same young kids that have always come out to the club shows. They come to forget about school or work or whatever and have a good time, so that’s what we are going to give them.”
Ticket prices are $29.75 for floor seats and $19.75 for arena seats, plus fees, and are available beginning Aug. 22. Purchase tickets online at ramsey.wcu.edu, by phone at (866) 928-3378 or at the Ramsey Center box office in Cullowhee.
