WCU to offer ‘Outdoor Photography’ July 31

Western Carolina University’s Outdoor Summer Fun Series will offer “Outdoor Photography” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 31.

Participants will meet at Base Camp Cullowhee, located in the east wing of Brown Cafeteria, and travel by van to various sites to learn about the use of natural light, composition, focus, and camera modes that produce the best results.

Participants will practice taking photos such as panoramic views, insect and flower close-ups and outdoor recreation action shots, and learn about difficult lighting situations, such as shadows.

Josh Whitmore, director of Base Camp Cullowhee and an experienced outdoor photographer, will lead the group.

Cost of the class is $55, including lunch. Pre-registration is required.
